Consistently reliable

This is our third year using Filevine, and we just renewed our subscription. We mainly use Lead Docket and the Personal Injury Software. The integration between them has always been seamless for us. They've added some new AI Fields features which are promising. Never had any major issues with uptime or data security. It's just a reliable system that works for our practice, which is why we keep coming back.

Good features, some setup needed

We recently implemented Filevine's Legal Practice Management for our firm. The features like Document Management and Automated Workflows are quite robust and have already started making a difference. However, the initial setup and customization took a bit longer than I anticipated. The team was helpful, but I felt there were some areas where the onboarding process could be more streamlined for new users. Overall, a solid platform once you get past the initial hump.

Worth the investment for our firm

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best value for our small firm. After getting a personalized quote for Legal Practice Management and some add-ons, I felt good about the annual billing discount we received. The implementation fee waiver was a nice bonus too. The features like Time and Billing and Client Portal seemed comprehensive. While it's a significant investment, the potential for streamlining our case workflows and improving efficiency makes it feel worth the cost. I'm hopeful it will pay off quickly.

Smooth migration, good support

We recently migrated our data to Filevine, specifically for their Mass Tort Software. The sales process was straightforward, and we received a bundle discount. The data migration process itself was smoother than expected; their team was quite thorough in helping us get everything set up. We've been using the Deadline Assistant and Settlement Tools extensively, and they're proving very useful. There was a small hiccup with one of our custom reports initially, but customer support resolved it within a day. The OCR Search is also a fantastic feature that saves a lot of time. Everything feels secure, and the Email Integration works well. A solid platform with good support that helps us manage complex cases.

is filevine just for big law firms or can a solo practitioner actually use it effectively without breaking the bank?

C Colin 1 month ago
It's scalable. While it's powerful for big firms, solo practitioners can definitely use it. The cost per user is where it might hit a solo harder than a large team, but the efficiency gains can offset that.

T Tom 1 month ago
I know a couple of solo attorneys who use it. It's an investment, but if you want to automate a lot of your processes and grow, it's totally viable. You'd want to make sure you're using enough of its features to justify the price.

wondering how filevine stacks up against clio for a small firm. i heard filevine is pretty powerful but clio seems simpler to start with. thoughts?

R Raj Romero 1 month ago
Filevine is definitely more robust, especially for more complex cases or if you want really custom workflows. Clio is solid for general practice, but Filevine takes it up a notch with the AI and document automation.

It really depends on your needs. My firm switched from Clio to Filevine because we needed better mass tort tools and deeper analytics. Clio was fine, but Filevine felt like a big upgrade for efficiency.

can filevine really handle big class action or mass tort cases? or is it better for smaller, individual cases?

I Ivy Torres 1 month ago
Oh yeah, it's designed for that. There's specific software built into Filevine for mass tort and personal injury. That's one of its strengths.

T Todd R. 1 month ago
Definitely. We use it for mass torts and it's a beast. The automation and document assembly features are super helpful for managing those huge caseloads.

if i refer someone, do i get anything back? like a credit or something?

M Marcus 1 month ago
I think they have a referral program. You'd have to check with your rep, but I'm pretty sure there's some kind of bonus for successful referrals.

J Jared Kim 1 month ago
Yes, there is a referral program. I got a small credit on my account after referring another firm. Worth asking about when you're talking to sales.

hey, anyone know if filevine actually gives out promo codes or is it all just custom quotes? trying to figure out if i should wait for a better deal.

S Shane 3 weeks ago
Nah, they don't do those typical promo codes you punch in at checkout. You gotta talk to their sales folks for any discounts, it's all custom pricing.

J June 3 weeks ago
Yeah, what they said. I tried finding one too. Best bet is to ask about annual billing discounts or if they have any seasonal stuff going on when you get a quote.

does filevine have a free trial or do you just have to jump straight into a demo call?

C Colin K. 1 month ago
Pretty sure it's just a demo. They don't do free trials like some other software, you gotta talk to a sales rep.
1
R Renee Carter 1 month ago
Yep, no free trial in the traditional sense. You schedule a demo and they walk you through it based on your firm's needs. That's how I did it.

how secure is filevine for client data? obviously super important for legal stuff.

W Wendy 1 month ago
It's cloud-based and they deal with sensitive legal info all the time, so they have to be secure. I've never had any issues with data security with them.

I Ivy 1 month ago
They talk a lot about their security protocols during the demo, and it's built for legal compliance. My firm handles a ton of PII and PHI and we've been confident with their security measures.
